Friendly, accommodating staff and excellent food. It was a nice day out for us.

We had gone to the Gelston house, party of the summer before last, as my family has for decades before a show or on a special occasion. WORST EXPERIENCE ever! So bad that as much as I just adore the atmosphere, will not come back. We arrived around 5, (luckily) the show bagan at 8pm. We were almost late. Our server NEVER came back to refill water or bread..dinner took forever and wasn't that great. The bill was pricy as expected..but I felt our dining experience was not a good one and went to the manager, took him to the side to explain our disappointment. Well, He couldn't have cared less. He was basically rude and brushed me off! That is the reason we will not be returning!!!!! Show season is back in swing, and you can bet you bisquits we will be patronizing other establishments!!!!!

My sons took me to the Gelston House on 5/18/13 at 1:00 for lunch. The fried calamari was bland, chicken Caesar wrap was fair, the sherry mushroom chicken was not the best and the fish and chips order was sent back, it was soaked in oil and the fish was not cooked to be flaky but soggy. The reorder, hamburger was ok. For a restaurant to survive is difficult as it is, would I go back no, would I recommend the Gelston House no and I am a local, tourists come and go this time of year, good luck after the summer.

I also told my son to check his receipt to be sure he did not have the same problem as one of the other reviewers had!

We took my mother and father for mothers day dinner may 11, 2013. The food was wonderful. My mother had prime rib i had poached salmon both was perfect. Staff was friendly atmosphere was fantastic. A few days later we found we were over charged $40.00. We left a cash tip and zerod the tip on the restaurants copy of receipt with the total. So i am not sure how this mistake happened. When i called on issue customer service for this error i felt was very poor. I dont understand why the charges couldnt get reversed and there was no apology for the mistake. A check is being mailed?? Due to this serious error i would not reccommend this restaurant or i would make sure you check your statement for any errors. 40o/o tip is def. Steep

Just had my daughters shower and I was delighted. The food was exceptional. But my hats go off to the wait staff. Not only did they deliver all the meals and drinks professionally, but when my mother-in-law became extremely ill at the table (twice) they expressed genuine concern and handled it each time quickly & discreetly so as not to cause her more embarrassment. BRAVO...Well Done!

Yesterday we celebrated my moms 85th birthday at the Gelston House. The staff was very friendly and they went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect. The food was very good and I am looking forward to going there again. Thanks Again Gelston House!

We ate for our first time here on Tuesday 7/3/12, we arrived @ 2:00pm. We enjoyed the outside seating, and our server Hunter was great. The food not so much, they were out of a few things.
We had Fried Calamari :(, grilled lobster rolls :(, and Limoncello poundcake :)). For the price it was a disappointment. But we all have different tastes!

Food is excellent and so is the service. Outstanding location! You will not be disappointed. Excellent bar too.

We had the most wonderful Easter Buffet. Everybody that we came in contact with there, they were all wonderful. We had the best server ever, Scott..he is a gem...great experience. The buffet was great, all the food was terrific. The drinks were made great!! It's really nice to go to a restaurant and have such great service from the second we stepped thru the front door. Wonderful!We will be back again...we are planning to come down on a nice summer day an enjoy the view from the terrace as we eat and drink....you will be our Thanksgiving spot for sure.

we recently had dinner attended a show at the goodspeed and stayed over at the gelston house. our room was very nice with a river view. it was very neat and clean, complimentary coffee and very comfortable. the staff couldn't be more accomodating. we had a great time and will surely come back.
